Accenture and Deloitte Ditched Performance Reviews - So Can You

27th October 2015 – Huddle Park Golf Club

A number of big companies have recently announced that they are getting rid of the dreaded annual performance reviews and revamped their review processes. The newest announcements are from Accenture and Deloitte, but they join Microsoft, Adobe, Gap, Medtronic and others in realising that the old way of conducting performance reviews is deeply flawed and ineffective.

And what are they replacing it with? According to Accenture and Deloitte, a management process that 1) provides feedback more often, 2) Requires less time to complete, 3) focuses on future performance rather than past failures, 4) removes the subjectivity from the process, 5) moves the focus away from employee management to employee performance, and 6) provides an empowering environment.

Sound familiar? Of course it does. You have been reading exactly this in Mark’s newsletters for years.

So Join Mark at Huddle Park Golf Club on the 27th of October to learn the application of the “breakthrough new thinking” which in reality is already 15 or 20 years old – that is how long we have been teaching it. The truth is: It works.

Delegates will learn:

  1. World Class Managers don’t manage KPI’s – top organisations are realising that all that the practice of managing and measuring KPI’s achieves, is the doubtful attainment of minimum standards.
  2. World Class Managers are fully engaged with their team a manager’s job is to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible for his or her team to do their job
  3. World Class Managers focus their time and attention on achieving results – invest your management time where it will achieve the best return
  4. World Class Managers ensure that individuals are motivated – You cannot sustainably motivate anyone. People are motivated when they mostly do what they are naturally good at.
  5. World Class Managers employ the right people – Good managers are very careful about who they employ. They look for people with zeal and hunger, with a high energy drive and an attitude of permanent optimism.
  6. World Class Managers cull their team ruthlessly – if you have inherited or employed a problem person, it is your job to fix or fire that person as quickly as possible.
